B SWIM Champs Sign Up - Part Deux

Ok. I realize this Champs signup thing is confusing. I’ll do better next year (oh wait…)

Here’s the breakdown - please read:

I am emailing as the Swim Chair and asking all SWIMMERS to declare for Bud Merritt (B) Championships by Monday, June 29th.

Declaration for Dive Championships will be communicated separately. Don’t panic!

Additionally, our assumption is that if your swimmer has qualified for A Swim Champs, they will participate in A Champs.

This link should take you to the Champs meet sign up: https://ccl.swimtopia.com/swim_meets/883315/swim_meet_entries or just navigate through SwimTopia to the CCSAKC Swim & Dive Championships 2026 meet like any other meet/event.

For B Swim Champs, we are only asking that you declare for Session 2 or Session 3.

Session 2 is the Wednesday morning session for 8s and 10s.

Session 3 is the Wednesday afternoon session for 12s/14s/16s/18s.

You do not need to sign up for Session 1 (A dive champs), Session 4 (A prelims - again, we assume if you qualify you will be swimming), or Session 5 (A Finals). The coaches will do all these entries.

If you aren't sure if your swimmer is participating in A or B Champs, sign them up for B Champs! The coaches will remove them if they are part of the A Champs lineup.

Please reach out if you are still confused or have questions. I want every swimmer to get their chance to flex during Champs week!

Crocs on Top.

.......................................

The following information was sent yesterday but is still valid/relevant:

Once the A-Champs lineup is announced (7/2 at the latest), coaches will go in and delete the A swimmers from B champs. If a swimmer has an individual event in A, they may not swim in the B Champs. Swimmers that are only swimming in an A relay may swim at B Champs.

If you are unsure if your child will attend A or B Champs, please read the explanations of both below and reach out to coaches or chairs with any additional questions.

The culmination of the season is the CCSAKC League Championship meets also known as A and B Champs. This is a fantastic week of events that you won’t want to miss! There are 2 sets of Championship meets for both Swimming and Diving. The “B” Championships are called the Bud Merritt Invitational. There is no limit on the number of swimmers and divers who can be entered in the Bud Merritt meets from each club. However, there are limits in the number of relays each club may enter. This is the chance for swimmers and divers who have worked hard all summer to compete for their personal best scores in their favorite events, and to show their accomplishments for the season! 8U and 10U will compete in the morning on Wednesday July 8th, while all other age groups will compete in the afternoon. More detailed schedules to follow.

In the “A” Championships, each club can enter 2 swimmers/divers per event and one relay team for each relay in each age group and gender. The coaches will determine these “A” participants after the last meet. Because each athlete is limited to a maximum of 5 events, the 3rd or 4th fastest time may get an opportunity to swim at "A " Championships. Entries for A Champs will be decided by the coaches and in the manner which generates the most points for the team. Parental issues with entry decisions will be handled by the Swim Chairs and/or the Head Coach.

To participate in A and/or B Swim Championships, a swimmer must have participated in 2 regular season league swim meets. No athlete may participate in more than 4 individual events including A Dive, B Swim, and A Swim. B Dive is not included in the event total. Athletes may participate in 3 individual events plus 2 relays or 4 individual events plus one relay. Entry times for individual events must be an Official Time from a Meet during the 2026 swim and dive season (No Time Trials Times may be used).
