CCL SWIM & DIVE 2020 SEASON UPDATE!

Dear Swim and Dive Families,

Greetings! We look forward to kicking off our CCL Swim and Dive “Modified” Season this Wednesday, May 27th via ZOOM Dryland Practices. Our goal this season is to 1) Keep All Athletes Safe and Healthy and 2) HAVE FUN! Our CCL Village is going to have to be stronger than ever as we work together to comply with state and local restrictions.

All parents should have received an invitation link to this week's TEAM Dryland ZOOM Practices (please share with your athlete), as well as the link for the Parent ZOOM Meetings, this Thursday evening (Swim at 7 pm and Dive at 7:45 pm).

We understand that some families are still contemplating participating in Swim and Dive this summer. We completely understand your reservations. At this time we have close to 200 athletes registered to participate. All families have until this Tuesday May 26th midnight, to opt-out of the season. Please email our registration volunteer Kerry Newell ([email protected]) if you would like to opt-out (and avoid getting charged on your June 1st with a due date of June 15th club billing). THANK YOU KERRY for handling registration this year!

CCL Swim and Dive plan to start Dryland Morning Swim and Dive Practices on the Pool Deck Monday, June 1st (see website for updates on practice schedules, we are limited in how many athletes are able to be on the deck during this week so we may send out a sign up for each practice for swimmers wanting to participate on the deck but will offer ZOOM drylands as well. We will update once we have a confirmed age group count). Athletes please arrive ready for your scheduled drylands practice in running shoes, bring a towel to sit on, have a water bottle in hand, and cell phone if needed. Due to COVID - 19 State and Local Mandates, No Parents will be allowed on the pool deck. Athletes do not sit on any of the furniture, please instruct your athlete to sit on their own towel. There will be designated Athlete drop off and pick up areas. Volunteers will check temperatures of swimmers prior to entry to the pool deck (younger athletes that get dropped off will have their temps checked while in the car prior to parents leaving the parking lot). There will also be a check-in for every athlete as we track the number of athletes/coaches/staff/volunteers on the pool deck. Athletes are required to hand sanitize upon entering the pool area and then again when they exit. We will have volunteers monitoring these entrance and exit areas. While on the pool deck athletes will need to social distance, there will be markings on the deck to help facilitate this. Bathrooms will be monitored to maintain social distancing and sanitation by an outside source. The Cabana will open June 8th and will not be open for seating, athletes will be able to order and pick up food via the Cabana window on the Courtyard side of the club as of June 8th. Athletes must leave the pool deck as soon as their practice is over so that we don’t go over our limit while the next age group is arriving for practice. We will have an update prior to June 8th regarding confirmed morning practice schedule (all depends on the number of athletes in each age group but will be very close to past season morning practice times) how our practices will be run once athletes are able to get in the water. THANK YOU to our Volunteer Coordinators Cristina Angles and Lori C. Patterson! They will be sending out volunteer sign-ups as soon as we have more information from the league.
